Day in the life at Welligogs HQ in Stafford, England
There is something rather magical about those crisp autumnal mornings in the English Countryside, isn’t there? We’d like to take you along on a perfect day in Stafford, the beautiful serene nature sanctuary that is the home to Welligogs HQ.
Morning Cuppa
First things first, we have to get cosy and make tea (for caffeine and warmth). We’d suggest throwing on our Sophie Loungewear Trousers and matching Cable Knit Jumpers for the occasion. Crafted from sustainably sourced viscose and modal, these pieces deliver an exceptional blend of refined elegance and tactile luxury. We’d also recommend sliding your feet into our Sheepskin Chestnut Slippers. The genuine sheepskin goes right to the tips of our toes, keeping us cosy and warm. The hard rubber sole means we can pad about the kitchen making tea without worrying about what we’re stepping on.
Getting Ready for The Chase
Shappa, Welligogs’ gorgeous dog, mascot, and friend needs to go for a walk. The Chase awaits, and if you've never been, you're missing out on one of Staffordshire's finest treasures. But before we head out, we need to kit ourselves out properly. British weather being what it is, you simply cannot take chances.
We can’t go anywhere without our Odette Khaki Waterproof Coat. This coat is fully waterproof, windproof, and breathable, which sounds too good to be true until you've actually spent three hours tramping through the Chase in November drizzle and emerged completely dry. The black moleskin cuffs and collar keep the chill out, and the generous pockets are large enough for Shappa's ball, the car keys, and even a cheeky packet of crisps. The Sophie Black Loungewear Trousers stay on, they're simply too comfortable to change out of, and they pair perfectly with a walk outdoors. We also need our Sloane Mocha Waterproof Boots in case the paths are muddy. And for warmth, we will be bundling up with our Alaskan Pheasant Scarf, Leather and Suede Chocolate Driving Gloves, Beanie Pink Hat, and Bamboo Print Socks.
The Chase
The Chase or Cannock Chase, is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Shappa is always in his element here, darting between the trees with the kind of joy that only a dog experiencing complete freedom can muster.
We’ve walked these paths countless times, but it never gets old. There's something deeply grounding about being surrounded by trees that have stood here far longer than any of us will be around. The air smells of earth and pine, and occasionally you'll spot a deer in the distance. Our Odette coat moves perfectly on these occasions, never restricting, never pulling. The machine-washable fabric means I don't have to worry about Shappa's muddy paw prints or the odd bramble we've had to push through. It's this combination of practicality and style that makes Welligogs such a joy to wear, you look put-together without feeling like you're wearing your best clothes to do the gardening.
Trip to the Local Pub
After a gorgeous day out, it’s time for a spot of lunch. Before heading to our favourite local pub, we’ve got to get changed (and maybe give Shappa a good rinse off as he likes to jump in all the puddles). For the pub, of course you can go very casual but who doesn’t like the opportunity to dress up a little bit? We’ll throw on some Nina Navy High Waisted Jeans as they are so flattering and go with everything, and pair that with the classic Selsey Red Shirt for a pop of colour. We’ll also wear our Hackney Burgundy Suede Loafers, they are a staple in our wardrobe. Lastly, we’ll need a statement coat. It’s been a bit chilly so our 100% tweed Demelza Coffee should do the trick, it’s also the most gorgeous chocolate brown colour which just screams comfort.
There is nothing better than sitting in a cosy pub decorated for the festive season with your friends, especially when you have a cute outfit on.
The Evening Wind Down
Once we are back at home, the evening settles into that gentle, satisfied lull that follows a good meal and better company. The Longline Navy Cardigan is now the piece we reach for, a beautiful piece that adds an extra layer of warmth without being too heavy. It pairs beautifully with the loungewear trousers and somehow manages to look put-together whilst being supremely comfortable.
The fire's on, there's a cup of tea brewing, and Shappa is snoring gently in his bed, thoroughly worn out from his adventures at The Chase. This is the perfect ending to a perfect day surrounded by the warmth of home, wearing clothes that feel as good as they look, and knowing that tomorrow brings another opportunity for small adventures and simple pleasures.
Reflection
Tomorrow, we'll start again with those Sheepskin Slippers. Perhaps we'll venture out somewhere new, or maybe we'll stick to our favourite paths at The Chase. Either way, we know we'll be properly dressed for it, warm, dry, comfortable, and ready for whatever the day brings.
That's the joy of living in Welligogs. It's not just about the clothes, it's about the life they enable you to live. And in Stafford, surrounded by beautiful countryside and endless opportunities for simple pleasures, that life is rather wonderful indeed.
